Eggsiting News Alert!

How marvelous!  I feel like a proud parent.  I know it is late but we have only just discovered our first egg!
Isn't it a posh one!  I was not eggspecting that for a week or two!  My girls are so clever.
I could not be prouder if I had laid it myself!  It is eggsactly what we have been waiting for.  I can now officially undertake egg collecting patrol each morning.  Bless those chickens, I love them.  Even if they didn't lay eggs I would still love them, they are part of our crazy household.  They will be 18 weeks old on Tuesday.
My my, how time flies.  My little girls have grown up!

  1. YAY! I'm so excited for you! I've been wondering when we'd get an egg post from you! I'm sure you're just bursting with pride and joy :) Do you have any plans for your little egg? I've read posts from some other ladies who've done different things with their first chicken eggs. Congrats and enjoy!

  2. *C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S*!* on your first egg!! I'll never forget my first eggs, we took them on our trip in our new trailer and they were carefully put in the fridge. When I opened the fridge everything had shifted around and the dozen eggs flew out onto the floor and almost all of them broke! Guess what we had for dinner? Scrambled egg sandwiches with a bit of cheese melted over the top. LOL
    ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. That eggciting post brought back such happy memories for me. My dear Mum bought my son 12 day old chicks for Christmas many years ago. The excitement when they laid their first egg has never been forgotten.Loving your blog.

  4. Congratulations Luce!
I guess it has to be half a slice each of eggy bread. No sauce or ketchup this time, just "savour the flavour".

Off to Evesham today to meet some of my husbands family for the first time (we have been together 18 years but they lost touch 20 odd years ago when his Dad died)Feels very weird.(don't know why I felt the need to tell you that other than because I'm going to Evesham!)

I appreciate and enjoy reading all of the feedback from your comments. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and sharing your thoughts. Sadly I have found it necessary to enable word verification, something I was trying to avoid...but I am receiving an unmanageable deluge of Spam! We don't want that do we? xxx :)
