Bleeurrghhh! and also 'Ta dah!'

I have not enjoyed the UK Indian Summer, it has been beautiful, sunny and warm, however I have had a rotten stinking virus!  I will spare you all the details.  Every cloud has a silver lining, the above tissues have been my constant companion.  What a Knitty find they were.  It is almost worth being poorly so you can bag yourself a couple of boxes complete with wonderful Aran Cable design.  I have some tablets, antibiotics, steroids and antihistamine.  The steroids are exactly the same ones that the dog takes, in fact it would have been much cheaper to get them from the vets.  I am on six times the daily dose compared to the dog!  I am not sure what is raging temperature and what is gorgeous weather.  I have felt truly awful!!  I have only been happy when I have been moaning or asleep!  Now I am getting on the mend thanks to all the pills but they are making me feel awful.  Bleurghh!
Today I took five minutes to finish my Ruffle scarf, sew in two ends and sew on a button.  I could not persuade either of my boys to model for me.  I forgive them as the oldest has been keeping me in steady supply of 'Red Bush Tea' and the youngest has been very caring and loving running me a bath and saying kind things.  When I put the scarf on he said 'Wow you look like Queen Victoria!'  It does look like an Elizabethan Ruff though doesn't it?  So I think I get where he was coming from.

My Camera battery is almost dead, so I could not be too fussy with the shot.  My charger appears to have stopped working too which is another technical calamity.  I enjoyed knitting this even though in the end there were over 1000 stitches per row!  It is very soft and light.  The yarn was really fantastic to work with, I just love the colours.  I am sure it will be just right when the heatwave moves over to make way for the snow that has been forecast for October.  It will be just right to wear to work to keep me snug.

  6. Sorry to hear you're under the weather :( Being sick is no fun! It is good though that you had a pretty little box of tissues and some loving boys with you. That does help in it's own way. On the upside, congrats on finishing your scarf! Cute little ruffles and fun colors help to bring smiles. I'm sure it'll be quite snuggly once the coolness of autumn truly sets in!

I appreciate and enjoy reading all of the feedback from your comments. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and sharing your thoughts. Sadly I have found it necessary to enable word verification, something I was trying to avoid...but I am receiving an unmanageable deluge of Spam! We don't want that do we? xxx :)
