"Two Hour Crochet Cowl'

Baba by Adriafil - Bulky/12ply 100% Merino

I had plans for this yarn as soon as I saw it.  It was a Destash on Ravelry and I managed to buy it for 20% of its cost.  I have just the hook to cope with bulky yarn.
Mr 25mm Beasty Bad Boy Hook!

Projects work up very quickly with this hook.  I chained 55 stitches, then did a row of double crochet, starting in the second stitch from the hook.  I used a chain to turn then worked crochet rib for eleven rows.  Sewed in the ends, attached three buttons (from my tin of old buttons) and Bob's your Uncle, I had a soft, warm, Merino cowl in well under two hours.  It has gone chilly again and some parts of the UK have had snow.  Widespread snow has been forecast.  Bring it on. . . I'm a ready for ya!

    1. Don't those word verifications drive you nutty! I can't read them at all more than half the time. . . prove I am not a robot! Jeesh do I look like a robot? I have been meaning to get a notebook though because some of those made up words are so funny.

  10. That's lush. I have a few skeins of Indian Silk that could be used to make a cowl, never thought of it until I saw your pictures. Thanks for the inspiration. Jayne xx

    1. Tina I have not progressed to any project above simple! It is beautiful coloured yarn, it really would take a little short of a miracle though to make me look stunning! It is a Two Hour Cowl not a Magic Cowl! :) If only eh? xxx

  15. Ooo love that wool! Now that's a speedy cowl, we dodged the snow up here which was a bit of a fluke as they hed it a few miles away on all sides :-)

    Have a great Easter,

    1. It is lovely 'Wool' I could really recommend it for a treat to work with. Well done on the snow dodging, it didn't settle but it was big, fat, wet snowflakes and it turned bitterly cold. You have a great Easter too Lori. I am sure you will be busy creating wonderful things :) xxx

    1. Hiya, thanks for your comment and question. This cowl is so simple, it is all about the yarn and the hookk size. I simply chained and then dc (uk terms). There is no pattern but if you look above I explain how I made it. It is so simple it really dod not need a pattern even. It is a nice warm cowl though and the UK have just had the coldest Easter on record! xxx

  19. I really want to make this! Just one skein for the whole cowl?

I appreciate and enjoy reading all of the feedback from your comments. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and sharing your thoughts. Sadly I have found it necessary to enable word verification, something I was trying to avoid...but I am receiving an unmanageable deluge of Spam! We don't want that do we? xxx :)
