Ladies Night!

Ooooh, what has happened to Blogger?  I am not one for change!  This is just a very quick post because I need to tell someone...I got my swimming costume wet again today!  I couldn't face a hobble  walk so I 'Manned it' again and this time went swimming on my own, without my trainer!  I went to the local pool to 'Ladies Night'.  I felt dreadful on the way there but was determined not to bottle it.  I swam from 8.45 - 9.30, my body is in shock, it doesn't like change either and that is sofa time.  I swam up and down to motivational tunes by Madonna and the Bee gees!  That cheesy Yazz tune 'The Only Way is Up' is now going around and around  in my head!  I feel as dead as a doughnut.  There has to be an easier way...I do not have the energy to lift my hook!   xxx

  2. Have you got a waterproof ipod/ithingy? How did you hear the music? Anyway, my stupid commentary aside, well done you, I personally hate donning my costume so anyone who does is mighty brave in my books and should be admired. xx

  3. Oh Lucy, I can so relate (: In the last few months I have gone swimming [not to the tunes of Madonna and the Bee gees] quite a few times now. [Reading about Teresa's regular swims has spurred me on.] I have a pulled muscle/ligament that has had me in drydock for the last few weeks, but I am cheering us all on
to better health!!! [So that we can lift our hooks (: ] <3

    1. I don't understand how getting unfit was so easy, but getting fit is soooo hard! I am cheering us all on too. :)

  4. Does company make it any easier? You've inspired me to join a slimming club, as I've got to reduce the wobbly bits! Hope your energy is back soon, it must be serious if you can't lift your hook!

    1. Oh dear don't you go blaming me! I am testing out all the local pools and their various sessions. It is a bit hit and miss for me regarding child care, I am sure Sophie would like to come too. I don't know how ladies were managing chatting and swimming, usually I can multi-task on dry land, but I think I would choke chatting and swimming :)

  5. Very well done! I wouldn't even brave the local swimming pool ... and as for Yazz, I lived in a flat in the 80's and the girl who lived above me kindly shared it with me every night at about 2am, waking my baby son up, so every time I hear it it makes me livid! Keep up your good work, it's all worth it in the end xxx

    1. Oh don't go there! We had a neighbour once who played Barbara Streisand 'I am a Woman in Love' at volume, over and over and over again. It really should be a crime to play any cheesy tune at volume more than once.

  7. Well done! You've got over the initial hurdle and every time you go will get easier. How did you manage to listen to music while swimming, that would really help motivate me in the pool. x

    1. Thanks, the pool played the music, I don't know if you can get water proof music gadgets...you probably can and if you can't someone should invent one! :)

  9. Great, a pool disco :-) I do love swimming but feel so damn naked and helpless without my glasses, and with glasses it is no good swimming...

  11. Hi Lucy, it will get easier. I said that last Tuesday as I tramped some 8 miles in Rosedale (my little toe disagreed though)
No, I don't like the new blogger either and I've managed to change back (for now) thanks to Jill's advice (see my last blog post).
Thank you for Silver Wedding greetings.

i need to follow your good example ang get some exercise soon. i have been sedentary for months on end, mainly due to being barely able to move due of painful joints, but now that this is easing i have no excuse.

i'm full of admiration for what you've been achieving, mopping and all ;o)(another thing i need to do)

    the new blogger is weird.

I appreciate and enjoy reading all of the feedback from your comments. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and sharing your thoughts. Sadly I have found it necessary to enable word verification, something I was trying to avoid...but I am receiving an unmanageable deluge of Spam! We don't want that do we? xxx :)
