Spam Flattery - 'Girl Gaga' Style

I love all of your comments I really do.  I just wanted to ask though is anyone else plagued with weird comments on their Blog?  I wondered how common it was.  I have literally 100+ a week of strange comments.  I don't publish them.  I am fed up of  too much;

I never knew you could get so much Spam.  Some of that looks good. . . 'Hot and Spicy' and Hawaii Spam'.
            I still love Blogging. . .don't get me wrong.  I have now had visitors from 151 different countries which I find amazing!  Isn't that amazing?  I can only speak English so I really admire bilingual and multilingual people. . . however some of these comments make my head hurt.  Some make me chuckle. . . I may start sharing some.  This is an example of one of them.  I think I am flattered!

What i do not realize is actually how you're no longer actually much more neatly-liked than you might be right now. You're so intelligent.
You realize thus significantly relating to this topic, made me for my part imagine it
from so many varied angles. Its like women and men are not involved except it's something to do with Girl gaga! Your own stuffs nice. Always take care of it up!

  1. lol, maybe they tried translating or google did and that is what ends up making it weird and unsensible! I have read or tried to read some blogs in different languages and used the google translator and that is how it comes out.
    Good luck, the pics made me laugh out loud! ♥

    1. Thanks I am sure you are right...many in fact most of the Spam comments are from people spamming for business...links to other commercial sites etc...they start off with a compliment and then advertise their own sites...business sites. It is a commonly used and effective tactic. My kids use it all the time. 'Mom you are lovely, you work so hard, is there anything we can do to help? For a five pound note!' lol xxx

  3. lol! Yes, I think Google translate may have something to answer for here! As for spam, yep, I starting getting tonnes too. That's why I had to turn the dreaded word verification back on. I hate it, but I couldn't stand getting so much spam all the time :-(

    1. Thanks for your reply Sandra, I did not realise word verification will solve this. I will keep going with the Spam for now and if it gets too much I will have to turn 'word verification' on. :) x

  4. Yeah, that's definitely a translating issue. I guess I'm just not popular enough yet to draw in multi-lingual comments ;) I hope the spam isn't too bad and that you're able to decipher some of the nice things that are said to you via funky translators!

    PS- Now I'm curious. Have you ever tried Spam?

    1. Life really is too short to spend any time on 'Google Translator' Your would get more sense out of a three year old, no make that a two year old! A lot of the comments are pretty mercenary...we love your site now link to mine...diet site, stop smoking site, etc... I have had Spam sandwiches. Spam is a 'cult' food that is really popular with some people...there are hundreds of Spam recipes out there if you google. Some are rather posh and sophisticated...however it seems that whatever you do to Spam in the end you are left with pink, squidgy, salty, 'artificial' meat. It is good to have some in your 'Prepping Box' though for emergencies. xxx

  5. Oh I'm jealous, I only have 135 countries visiting my blog. Can I borrow some of yours? :-) I am getting weird spams and they're usually from some of my much older posts. And when I go look, they're not posted, so I guess my spam filter is taking care of them. But I'm willing to put up with a few spams so that I don't have to have that completely annoying password thingie on my comment section. I really appreciate NOT having to fill those in. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

    1. I find word verification a right pain too Teresa. Sometimes I have to have four or five goes to get them right. So I will like you put up with a bit of Spam...if it gets too bad though? Hmmm Spam...now what is for dinner? lol xxx

  6. Perhaps one of my advantages to being little known is that I have not been spammed as yet. I think it is very cool that you have readers from so many countries, Lucy! I am surprised that I have a few from other countries. The comment you shared in the post definitely made me :) Hope you have a happy week! xx from Gracie

I appreciate and enjoy reading all of the feedback from your comments. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and sharing your thoughts. Sadly I have found it necessary to enable word verification, something I was trying to avoid...but I am receiving an unmanageable deluge of Spam! We don't want that do we? xxx :)
